The poem this is based on:

They say a goldfish has a short-term memory of three seconds.
Can it tell time?
Or do the seconds just
swim by
one by one
without bothering to leave a memento?
It must be easy
forgetting everything
fear or worry eternally fading away.
And when danger passes
to a goldfish it was never really there.
Consequentially
when the worst happens
a goldfish will hardly know.
Three seconds
can't last that long.
Can it?
